Environmental Stewardship

Warmed by the ocean and sheltered by the mountains, Fairwinds is one of Canada's mildest climates. This is a place Garry Oaks and Arbutus trees cling to rock outcrops and eagles and deer are a daily slight for residents. All developments are planned around parkland and carefully considered in future developments.

Fairwinds is dedicated to environmental stewardship. At the planning stage of a new development, an independent biological and environmental assessment team have input into the land to be set aside as park. During construction we are ever cognizant of our effect on the environment and seek to minimize the impact of our activities.

We encourage all Fairwinds residents to take their personal environmental stewardship seriously. We ask that building plans consider the natural amenities of the site and encourage the use of native plant species in landscaping.
